About DownTwitter
DownTwitter is a small, free tool for saving videos, GIFs and photos from public tweets. We built it because most downloader sites are full of ads, fake buttons and sign-up walls, when all you want is a file.
Here's how it works: you paste a link, our server asks Twitter for the public tweet data, and the media is passed on to your device. Nothing is uploaded to an account, and nothing is kept once the download is over.
DownTwitter is an independent project with no connection to Twitter or X Corp. The videos you find through it belong to their creators, so please use them with respect.
What we care about
- Simple: one box, one button
- Private: no accounts, no tracking scripts
- Fast: works in any modern browser
- Respectful: made for personal use, with creators in mind
